Describe your average day at work: I would love to have an “average” day – they don’t exist. There’s always something new in the entertainment industry, and being tied to the Internet doesn’t help either.

If I had a $1 million check for charity, it would go to: Music education

It’s 11 on Saturday morning. Where are you? Wherever being “Dad” takes me – sports, playground, doughnut shop, in front of the TV watching Spongebob.

Do you have any unusual hobbies? Once I had the urge to learn team roping – you know, like roping steer from horseback. I’ve always been fascinated with cowboys and rodeo. So, I went, learned and checked it off the list.

Professional pet peeve: Using big, trendy words to make yourself sound smart.

Most important lesson learned: Luck is when preparation and opportunity collide – preparation being the operative word.

Who is your mentor and why: I’ve been very fortunate to have a number of mentors during my career. I really feel like I went through an apprenticeship because I was able to learn from master businessmen early in my career. But, it did all begin with my Dad. I had to spend two years cleaning his office before he’d even let me work for his company at the time. That inspired me to work my way up and learn that there are no entitlements.
